Job Overview
Tata Elxsi is hiring a Software Developer I for its Apple Player SDK Team. The role involves working on advanced video playback solutions across Apple platforms, including iOS, tvOS, and Apple TV. As part of this team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, optimise, and troubleshoot streaming performance, ensuring smooth and high-quality video playback for global users.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining Apple Player SDK components for iOS, tvOS, and Apple platforms.
- Optimise streaming performance to deliver smooth, high-quality, and low-latency playback.
- Troubleshoot streaming issues related to media buffering, DRM, and content delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance video playback experience.
- Conduct unit testing, code reviews, and maintain coding standards.
- Stay updated on Apple’s latest technologies and contribute to continuous SDK improvements.
- Explore technical solutions, weighing platform-specific trade-offs for mobile and TV devices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- 1+ years of iOS and/or tvOS development experience.
- Strong knowledge of Swift and UIKit.
- Understanding of software development principles, architecture, and design patterns.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing (unit tests), and Agile practices.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a continuous learning mindset.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Good to Have
- Exposure to AVFoundation, HLS, and streaming protocols.
- Knowledge of DRM technologies like FairPlay.
- Experience with SwiftUI and Apple TV-specific development.
- Familiarity with video playback analytics and telemetry.
